Neck c. 1928, rim c. 1936, maple neck, bound ebony fretboard extends over head (24 frets), standard No. 1 inlays, nickel hardware, transparent mylar head. Plating and finish show wear, back of peghead oversprayed, 1/2" x 3/4" hole in rim, knee mute missing, tuners are slightly mismatched post war pancake style, one missing and one mismatched resonator thumb screws, remaining hardware original including Oettinger tailpiece. A good player's instrument. GC+, c. 1960 HSC. $850

Vega Senator Plectrum Banjo 1922/1930
10-15/16" rim, two section mahogany resonator, 26 hooks and ball end nuts, individual flanges, 26" scale mahogany neck with bound pearwood fretboard. Neck is from 1922 (serial no. 48745), rim from 1930 (serial no. 91042). Dowel extended 3/16" to fit slightly larger rim, two small screw holes repaired in back of peghead, considerable wear to dyed pearwood fretboard but only moderate fret wear. Good sound and playability, overall VG-EXC.

10-3/4" rim plated brass shell and tone chamber, 27" scale ebony fretboard with ivoroid binding and large slotted diamond pearl position markers, walnut neck with 5 ply center lamination, walnut resonator. A very nice example from the Loar era. Fine to medium grained spruce top, two piece curly maple back, red sunburst finish, single flower pot peghead inlay, truss rod and adjustable bridge. Some light playing wear, a few scratches including one long scratch on top but no cracks, structural damage or repairs. All original except new ebony end pin. EXC, OHSC. $9250

Red sunburst finish, fine to medium grained spruce top, one piece maple back, double flowerpot peghead inlay, earliest style adjustable bridge with aluminum top. Mismatched tuners (treble side original, bass side mid 1920s), small repaired crack under tailpiece, finish wear and weathering, deteriorated pickguard in case. VGC+, OHSC. $5250

Natural (pumpkin) finish spruce top, red finish back and sides, bound top, unbound back, bound ebony fretboard. Lower back seam reglued a bit roughly (tight and structurally sound, but cosmetically a little poorer than we'd like), some other areas of reglued seam done better, missing pickguard and tailpiece cover. Other than as noted there is little wear and there are no structural issues. A good playing and sounding example. G-VGC+, OHSC $1200
