SILVERTONE MODEL 1448 GUITAR WITH CASE AMP – c. 1964
The 1448 Silvertone is built on a semi-hollow Masonite-and-pine asymmetrical double cutaway body with sharp curling “horns”. It is finished in black sparkle lacquer with white vinyl edge trim and a white Masonite pickguard. Made by Danelectro for distribution by the Sears and Roebuck company this guitar has a 23.5″ scale length, a single Danelectro lipstick pickup and volume and tone controls. This guitar was marketed to students as an “all in one” solution. The original case houses a three watt tube amp with a six inch speaker great for playing at low volume. The guitar is in very good condition and plays great, the amp is in perfect working condition and still has the original Silvertone tubes. $850
